GovernMax.com Completes Okaloosa County's Web Site for Online Property Tax Collection

KALAMAZOO, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 28, 2000--Manatron, Inc.(Nasdaq:MANA) today announced that its GovernMax.com division (http://www.governmax.com) has completed a CollectMax web site (http://okaloosa.governmax.com/collectmax) for Florida's Okaloosa County. The CollectMax web site, which GovernMax also hosts for Okaloosa County, interfaces with the county's back-office information systems to enable property owners to pay taxes online for a convenience fee. Okaloosa County has 110,000 property accounts and includes the cities of Crestview, Destin, Fort Walton Beach and Niceville.

Okaloosa County's CollectMax web site marks the first time a Florida county will receive online tax payments without the use of a third-party collection agency, according to county officials. It also marks GovernMax's first CollectMax installation.

GovernMax's managing director Robert Fry said, "We are very excited to have the first installation of CollectMax completed. Because of its ability to allow the secure and accurate transactions between local government and its citizens, CollectMax is a key addition to our suite of web software as local governments invest in e-government."

Chris Hughes, Okaloosa County Tax Collector, commented, "Convenience should play an important part in how local government serves its citizens. The Internet combined with GovernMax's e-commerce software is an excellent tool for local governments to increase their level of service to the citizen."

Manatron, Inc. designs, develops, markets and supports a family of web-based and client/server application software products for county, city and township government.
